Do It Yourself ?

The Heat Pump Store has developed a do-it-yourself ductless heat pump program for builders, remodelers and homeowners with “drills and skills”.  Considerable cost savings are available compared to installed costs from a heating contractor.  The Heat Pump Store does the technical refrigeration stuff so (unlike internet arrangements) the system is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

However, do-it-yourself really means “DO-IT-YOURSELF”.  It is your install and you will be responsible for the overall quality of the application and installation.  The Owner/Builder is responsible for permits, the final system installation layout, and all installation labor required to: install the indoor and outdoor units, provide electrical service and wiring, install line-set covers, run line-sets, and design and install condensate management piping.  All work must be consistent with the manufacturer’s installation requirements and comply with state and local building codes.
